About

Hello! My name is Dr. Gregg Potts. I am the Pastor of First Baptist Church, Emerson, Ga. I was interim here for one year and the church called me permanently at the end of October 2012. Our church is located on Highway 41 between Acworth and Cartersville, Ga. We are just off Interstate 75. You can visit us at www.fbc-e.org.

This is my personal blog. I primarily blog about Christian living and the church but I occasionally touch on sports or politics. I will also post some stories or quotations that other Ministers can use.

I have a real desire to be real and very practical in my posts. Living the Christian life can be tough and I want to deal with real issues that we face.

I believe STRONGLY in grace. It doesn’t matter how much a person has messed up, Jesus will forgive if we ask Him. I believe the church needs to practice grace more.

All of my adult life has been spent in ministry. I was a Music and Youth Director in my first church but, since then, I have pastored churches for twenty-eight years. I have written articles for local papers where I have lived. Also, I’ve written for several Southern Baptist publications. In 2010, I published a book entitled “Inspiration From The Stained Glass.”

I am married to Holli, my best friend, and we have three grown children and two dogs. 🙂

I hope that you will subscribe to my blog. It’s easy to do. Just subscribe on the side of the page.

  2. Hello to the Potts family, Emerson First Baptist is where I was born again. So glad you are there. Our family/siblings have been wanting to visit there for a long time. Some Sunday, we will drop in to hear you preach again. We miss and love all of you. Most of the people we knew there have probably gone home but some of their families may still be there. We left there when I was 14 years old. We love our Pastor and family..
