“Even When I’m Old And Gray…O God Do Not Forsake Me”

“This too shall pass…”
I’ve heard that phrase over the years from people who are going through adversity. They remind themselves, “This too shall pass” and that helps them through their trials.
David could have easily said that. In Psalm 71, David says, “In Thee, O Lord, I have taken refuge; Let me never be ashamed.” Then David adds, “Be thou to me a rock of habitation, to which I may continually come…”
David was confident of the Lord’s help that later in the Psalm David prays, “And even when I’m old and gray, O God, do not forsake me” (71:18). “Even when I’m old and gray… ” I like that verse.. maybe it’s because I’m getting older and I am mostly gray! 🙂
Are you confident of the Lord’s help? Because God has been with us and has provided for us… we can be confident that even when we are “old and gray” the Lord will be with us.
