Do you have peace?
Have you ever told someone, “I have a peace about it?”
Or, maybe you have said, “I just can’t get any peace about it.”
All of us want peace.
Maybe we are tired… frazzeled… stressed out… we may say, “I just want some peace and quiet.”
How do we get peace? Unfortunately, lots of people turn to drugs or alcohol for peace.      A regular stop at a bar… or drinks with friends, gives them peace. The liquor gets in their system and for a little while at least, they forget their problems… they have peace.
Or, someone may be hooked on some type of medication. When they take that medication, it gets into their bloodstream and they find temporary peace. For others, maybe a trip… a vacation… a shopping spree.. gives them temporary peace.
Notice, I have said repeatedly that people have “temporary peace.” It’s not lasting peace… it goes away when the alcohol wears off or the trip ends. It’s temporary peace.
True, lasting peace is found in a relationship with Christ. Paul said in Romans 15:13, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may be found that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Think about that verse… “…may the God of hope.. fill you with all joy and peace…”
The Lord can give us hope and peace. How does he do it? Through a relationship with Jesus. In Romans 5:1, “Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Today, are you at peace? Are you happy? If not, you can be. Jesus will give us peace. One of the fruit of the spirit is peace. If you have asked Christ into your heart… if you are walking with Jesus… if you are allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you and fill you… you have peace.
