It’s the key to relationships. You can’t do business with someone you don’t trust. It’s tough to love someone you don’t trust.
Proverbs 20:6 says, “Many a man proclaims his own loyalty But who can find a trustworthy man?”
This verse highlights the fact that trust can be tough to come by. Most of us probably know lots of people.. we may have several friends.. but, we probably only have a few people.. maybe even just one or two… that we trust.
How do you build trust? You don’t share things that were said to you confidentially. You do what you are supposed to do. You keep your mouth shut.. you don’t gossip…
Christians, of ALL people, should be trustworthy. We should NOT repeat something told to us in confidence. NEVER…. EVER..
When someone asks us to do something… we should do it.. we should get the job done.. we have been entrusted with a task.
Trust is hard to come by in today’s world but, of all the people in this world, Christians should most definitely be trustworthy.
Shakespeare once said, “Love all, trust a few, do wrong to no one.”
While we can’t always trust people, we can always trust God. God never, ever let us down. Corrie Ten Boom once said, “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”
Today, be a person that others can trust.
