“Let Me Fall Into The Hand Of God… His Mercies Are Great”

There is an old expression that says; “To err is human, to forgive divine.”
Forgiveness comes from God. Forgiveness can be challenging for man…we are human and even though we may need to forgive, at times, our pride prevents us from doing so. Only as we are filled with the Holy Spirit can we forgive.
In Samuel 24, David decides he wants to number the people of Israel. He tells Joab, the commander of his army to go and number the people. But Joab knows this is wrong and tries to persuade David against this. But, David wants it done. So, the people of Israel were numbered. But after doing this, David’s heart troubled him. So, David went to God and confessed his sin and asked forgiveness.
The next morning God sent the prophet Gad to David and told David that God was offering him three things as punishment for his sin;
1) 7 years of famine
2) Flee three days months before your foes while they pursue you
3) 3 days of pestilence in the land
David thought about it and said, “I am in great distress. Let us now fall into the hand of the Lord for His mercies are great but do not let me fall into the hand of man.”
That’s a strong verse… “let me fall into the hand of the Lord for His mercies are great.”
Today, whatever you are dealing with… Whatever mistake you have made, I assure you God’s mercies are greater than your sin.
Today… like David… trust God for forgiveness.
