We Can Trust The Lord

Can you trust God?
That is a core issue that many people struggle with. Now, I know some may be reading this and thinking; “Of course, you can trust God. My Lord, if you can’t trust God, who can you trust?”
And, to those who may feel that way, I hear you but, hang with me a moment. While for some, trust may be easy however, for others, it’s a challenge. Maybe it’s because someone has let them down in the past and they have difficulty trusting. So, again; can you trust God?
We Christians may say, “Yes, you can trust God.” But, what happens when money gets tight? What happens when the “chips are down” so to speak?
Well, the answer, regardless of the circumstances is, you can trust God. In Joshua 23, Joshua is old and about to die. He is giving a final word of challenge to Israel. He says to them, “Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your God has come true. Not a single one has failed” (Joshua 23:14).
Think about that verse… “Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your God has come true…” Ok, so what are some of the promises of God?
God promises to provide for us and He does.
God promises to direct us and He does.
God promises to love us and He does.
The list could go on and on. But, rest assured, if God has promised to do something, He will. Now, I didn’t say God will give us a new house or a new car or a vacation or a new suit of clothes. God says “I will provide your basic needs.”
So, are you having a problem trusting God? Has someone let you down and you have problems trusting, period? Whatever God has told us, we can bank on it. Whatever God has promised us, we can bank on it.
There is a song that goes;
“In my moments of Fear, Through Every Pain Every Tear
There’s A God Who’s Been Faithful To Me, When My Strength Was All Gone
When My Heart Had No Song, Still In Love He’s Proved Faithful To Me
Every Word He’s Promised Is True, What I Thought Was Impossible I See My God Do.”
“He’s Been Faithful, Faithful To Me
Looking Back, His Love And Mercy I See
Though In My Heart I Have Questioned
even Failed To Believe He’s Been Faithful, Faithful To Me.”
We can trust the Lord.
