“Since You Have Never Traveled This Way Before”

Are you doing something you’ve never done before? What I mean is, has the Lord instructed you to do something and, you always try to follow the Lord but, you have never done what the Lord is asking you to do?
In Joshua 4, God was preparing Israel to cross the Jordan. God told the Levitical priests to carry the Ark of the Covenant first. Then, God told the people os Israel to follow the Levitical priests. God said, “Since you have never traveled this way before… they will guide you.”
“Since you have never traveled this way before…” The Lord may have led you to do something you’ve never done before. You are anxious. The Lord says to us, “Since you’ve never traveled this way before… follow me.”
Maybe your church is starting a new ministry. No one has done this before and everyone is a little anxious. The Lord says to you, “Since you’ve never traveled this way before… follow Me.”
Maybe you’ve started a new job. You knew how to do your old job… You had it for a long time.. you were familiar with it. But this job, it’s new and you aren’t quite sure yourself. The Lord says to you, “Since you never traveled this way before… follow Me.”
There is an old hymn goes;
“Sweetly Lord, Have we heard Thee calling, ‘Come follow Me.'”
And we see where Thy footprints falling, Lead us to Thee.
Footprints of Jesus, that make the pathway glow.
We will follow the steps of Jesus, Where’er they go.”
If the Lord is guiding you into something new.. a new country.. a new church a new city… a new job… a new ministry… the Lord says, “Since you have never traveled this way before… follow Me.”
