Stop Living On Fantasy Island

Many of you remember the popular TV show from the seventie’s, “Fantasy Island.” The star of the show was a character known as “Mr. Roarke.” He would grant visitors to the island the opportunity to live out their fantasy… for a price.
Mr. Roarke’s sidekick was a small man named “Tattoo.” At the beginning of every show, as another plane of people would arrive he would shout, “de plane! de plane!”
“Fantasy Island” was a place where people could live out their fantasies. “Fantasy island” was a television show. But, lots of people still live on Fantasy Island. Not the one on the tv program but, an island in their minds.  A fantasy is just that; a fantasy. It’s not real. But lots of people are living their lives in fantasy land. Proverbs 12:11 says, “A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.”
Are you living in fantasy land? Are you not willing to deal with reality?
If you think you are going to get rich quick…. you are living in fantasy land.
If you are trying to be something you are not… you are living in fantasy land.
If you think you are the one exception and you will not spend eternity in hell so you can live like you want… you are living a fantasy.
If you think you can do drugs or alcohol and they will not abuse your body… you are living in fantasy land.
If you think you can have an affair and marry another man or woman and life will be suddenly happy for you, you are living in fantasy land.
If you think you can break the law and not get caught or punished…. you are living in fantasy land.
Stop living on fantasy island and live in the real world. As the Proverb says, “…a person who chases fantasies has no sense.”
