Trusting God When We Don’t Undertand

Christians believe in the power of prayer. We believe that if our hearts are clean, when we talk to God, God hears us and answers our prayers. But, God doesn’t always answer “yes.” In fact, there are three ways God answers prayer;
1) Yes
2) No
3) Wait
We like “Yes” but we don’t care for “No” or “Wait.” So, what do we do when God answers with “No” or “Wait.” At times, people become frustrated and they could begin to question if God exists or if God is real. “After all,” they reason, “if God were real He would answer my prayer.”
But Just because God answers “No” or “wait” doesn’t mean God isn’t real.
The prophet Habakkuk faced this. Habakkuk looked around and saw lots of wickedness. He called out to God but God didn’t respond.. or Habakkuk thought God wasn’t responding.
In Habakkuk 3, Habakkuk prayed, “Though the fig tree doesn’t blossom and there be no fruit on the vine… though the yield of the olive should fail and there be no cattle in the stalls, yet I will trust in You, O God” (Hab. 3:17-19)
Today, maybe you think God has forgotten you. I promise you God hasn’t. Habakkuk’s prayer applies to us as well. Even though things look bad… Habakkuk said He would trust in God. I encourage you to do the same.
