God Does Not Keep A Record Of Our Wrongs

Have you ever gotten frustrated someone and maybe threw up your hands in exasperation and said, “That’s it! I’m done! I’m OVER this!”
You are human and it’s very possible you have. Maybe you had forgiven someone numerous times until you finally reached your max.
Or, maybe someone said that to you. Maybe someone told you, “I’m done with this… You have pushed me to my limit… I’m over this!”
We are human and at times, a person may wash their hands of us or, we may wash our hands of someone else. But, thank the Lord, Jesus never does that.
Psalms 130:3 says, “…if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive?” Think about that verse… “If you kept a record of our sins…” The phrase “kept a record..” sounds like a book-keeping term. It’s as if someone is making a notation every time we sin. But the Psalmist says if God did that to us… who could survive? If the Lord kept a record of our sins, none of us would survive.
Thank the Lord, God doesn’t keep a record of our sins. There wouldn’t be enough paper to write down my sins. So I’m very thankful God doesn’t keep a record.
Today, maybe you have thought that God’s love has run out on you. Maybe you think you messed up too many times. God couldn’t possibly love you.
You are wrong. God’s love never runs out. He doesn’t keep a record of wrongs.
I encourage you to be the same. It may be that you have run out of patience with someone. You may need to put up some boundaries but, don’t stop loving.
I read recently that former President George W. Bush told one of his daughters, “There’s nothing you can do to make me stop loving you so, stop trying.” God loves us. He doesn’t keep a record of wrongs. We should praise Him for that.
