God Loves Us Even When We Are Unfaithful

Throughout the Bible we read of God’s love. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible tells us of God’s love for us. In the book of Hosea, God uses the prophet Hosea to illustrate His love for Israel.
God tells Hosea to marry a promiscuous woman Gomer. You read that correctly; Hosea was told to marry a woman who would not be faithful to him. So, Hosea does as he’s told and marries Gomer. Hosea and Gomer had their first child and they named him Jezreel.
Then, Gomer conceived a second time and God gave them a daughter whom they named, “Loruhamah.” Then, Gomer conceived one final time and gave birth to a son whom they named “Lo-Ammi.” So, Gomer gave Hosea three children.. two boys and a girl.
Then, true to her nature, Hosea left Gomer. But, God told Hosea to buy Hosea back. Hosea does as he’s told and God tells him, the reason he was told to buy Gomer back was to illustrate to the people of Israel that although they had been unfaithful, God still loved them.
That story is a great demonstration of God’s love. God loves us… even when we mess up. Even when we slip. God loves us.
Maybe you have messed up and you are thinking no one loves you… maybe Satan is trying to make you think you have messed up so bad, God can’t love you any more. God can love you and does love you. If God would tell His prophet to marry a prostitute and then, to buy her back after she was unfaithful, God can and does love us as well.
Receive God’s love… rest in it… this Christmas season.
