You Are In God’s Gifted Program!

When my daughter was growing up, going to elementary school in Vancleave, MS, they had a “gifted” program. Kids that had the appropriate grades were in the gifted program. It was an honor to be selected. If you were chosen for the gifted program you felt a little special… and you should. It was an honor.
Well, I have good news for all of us… if you are a believer in Christ, you are in the gifted program. Now, someone may say, “… man… I ain’t in the gifted program… my grades were terrible. That doesn’t matter. This gifted program is different. If you are a Christian… you are in God’s gifted program.
In I Peter 4:10, Peter said, “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.” Read it again… “God has given each of you a gift….” So, everyone who is a believer is in the gifted program.
What does that mean? It means that we all need to serve the Lord. How do we do it? The primary means is through the local church. Everyone of us have a gift. Some are gifted at teaching. Some are gifted at speaking. Some are gifted at helping. Some are gifted at organization. We are all gifted in different ways.
You may sit in your Sunday School class and think, “Man I wish I could teach like him.” Your teacher has the gift of teaching but, you have some gifts your teacher doesn’t have.
The first step in this process is to know your gifts. Do you know what your spiritual gift is? There are online tests you can take to help you know your gift. Discover your gift and then use it.
Your church may be asking for volunteers but you haven’t responded. Why aren’t you serving? You are gifted, friend! Use your gift for God’s glory!
