My Redeemer Lives

There are times when life comes at us hard. There are times when it makes no sense. Even though you try to do the right thing…you try to live as Christ would have us live… you try to live a good moral life… there are times when even though you are doing the right things, life can be tough and we suffer. Job is a perfect example of that.
Job was suffering. My Lord, he was suffering. He suffered so much his wife told him to “curse God and die.” But Job wouldn’t do it.
But in his response to Bildad Job said, ““But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last” (Job 19:25).
What a strong, foundational verse! Job has lost his family, his flocks and now, he’s suffering physically yet, he says, “I know that my Redeemer lives…”
Maybe you see all the suffering in the world and it makes you think God doesn’t exist.       Maybe you are going through a tough time… maybe a divorce… maybe someone has lied to you.. .maybe the ball just isn’t bouncing your way… but, in spite of EVERYTHING you are experiencing, you know that you know that you know that you know that your Redeemer lives. You don’t always understand your redeemer. You don’t always know His ways. You question why some of your prayers seem to be answered while others aren’t. But, you know, that your Redeemer lives.
There are times when that is all we have to cling to… that our Redeemer lives.
There are times when that is all that we know… that our Redeemer lives.
In the midst of tremendous suffering, Job said, “I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last.”
