Sharing Jesus In A Tough Environment

Are you working in a tough place? Are you in an environment that you really don’t like and you are looking for a new job? That’s certainly your prerogative but, you may be right where God wants you.
“But,” you reply, “I’m working around a lot of people who are non-Christians.” Ok, and why is that bad? God may have you right where you are for a reason.
The apostle Paul started lots of churches and one of those was in Corinth. Why was Corinth a big deal? Well, it was a port city… somewhat like New Orleans.. and it had a conglomeration of people. Corinth was “sin city.”
Let’s imagine the Ministers in the area were at a Pastor’s conference. One Minister is talking to another and he says, “Hey, I understand FBC Corinth is open. Would you like for me to send your resume there?”
The other Minister says, “No, I’ve heard that’s a tough church… that city is known as sin city… it’s going to be tough to Pastor there.”
Ok, it may be tough to Pastor in Corinth but, that doesn’t mean they don’t need a church. So, if you are working somewhere and maybe you are the only Christian… God may have put you there to be an example for Christ.
In I Corinthians 1;7, Paul writes, “I am writing to God’s church in Corinth, to you who have been called by God to be his own holy people. He made you holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as he did for all people everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours.”
If you are in a tough place, don’t bail out.. instead, go to work every day asking the Lord to help you to humbly, share the love of Christ in what may be a tough work environment.
