Christianity Is Based On Faith

There are lots of world religions and the majority of them are based on works. In order for an adherent of that religion to be right with their god, they must do good deeds… ie… works. But the Christian faith is different. It’s based on faith and grace.
The apostle Paul said, “For by grace are you saved, through faith, not as a result of works…” (Ephesians 2). Notice Paul said, “through faith…” In Romans 4, Paul talked about Abraham. He said of Abraham, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith” (Romans 4:3).
So, Abraham believed God and because of that, God counted Abraham as righteous. So in order to become Christian we must believe… we must have faith in Jesus. Think about it… when we witness to someone we encourage them to pray to a God they cannot see. We ask them to believe in a book that says it’s inspired by God but how do we know for sure? We accept it by faith.
By faith, we believe God exists.
By faith, we believe Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
By faith, we believe the Bible is true.
By faith, we give ten percent of our income believing God is going to take the remaining ninety percent and help us feed our families and pay bills.
By faith…
Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteous.
Today, have faith in God’s word. Have faith that what God tells us to do is the right thing to do. Like Abraham did; believe God.
