Why It’s Important To Read God’s Word

       How do you live a godly life? One big step in doing it is reading God’s word. You cannot grow as a Christian unless you read God’s word.
       Psalms 1 says, “How blessed is the man who does not walk in the council of the wicked, nor sit in the seat of scoffers, nor stand in the path of sinners. But his delight is in the law of the Lord.”. Think about that last sentence; “his delight is in the law of the Lord…”
       Do you enjoy reading God’s word? If not, we need to ask ourselves why we don’t. Our growth as a Christian is directly tied to reading God’s word.
       If you are not reading God’s word, make time for it. Start with fifteen minutes a day.
You can listen to the Bible while you sre driving to work. If necessary, take your lunch break and read God’s word. The Psalmist said, “How BLESSED is the man….whose DELIGHT is in the law of the Lord.”. “Blessed” means “happy.”
So, I encourage you to make time for God’s word. You won’t regret it.
       An unknown poet wrote;
      “Though the cover is worn,
       And the pages are torn,
        And though places bear traces of tears,
        Yet more precious than gold
         Is this Book worn and old,
         That can shatter and scatter my fears.”
