“God Doesn’t Call The Qualified, He Qualifies The Called”

“Grace, grace; God’s grace.
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within.
Grace, grace. God’s grace.
Grace that is greater than all our sin.”
So goes the old hymn that speaks of the marvelous grace of God. Another example of God’s grace is in the life of Moses. In Acts 7, Stephen is preaching and he is telling the story of how God has worked in Israel. He goes back to the time Israel was in Egypt in bondage. Yet, God was preparing to get His people out of Egypt. How would he do it? He would use a man named Moses.
Ok, so why is that a big deal?
Well, earlier in his life, Moses had killed an Egyptian who was beating a Hebrew. After that, Moses fled to the wilderness. He remained in the wilderness until God appeared to Moses in a burning bush. When God got Moses attention, He told him He was going to use him to bring Israel out of bondage. God said, “Now go, for I am sending you back to Egypt.” (Acts 7:34)
Think about that…. God is sending Moses BACK to Egypt. Egypt is where Moses had killed a man. Yet God is going to use Moses, a man who murdered someone, to bring His people out of Egypt.
Maybe God has spoken to you about serving but you have some baggage. Satan whispers in your and tells you that you are unworthy… unqualified… The truth is.. you may be… but God uses the unworthy and the unqualified. He has used me and He can use you.
God sent Moses back to Egypt… back to the place where he messed up and He is going to use him there. God wants to do the same with us. He used Moses and He can use us. Let God use you today.
There is an old quote that goes; “God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.”
If God calls us, He will qualify us.
