“Let Me Fall Into The Hands Of God”

There is an old song that goes;
“And it’s all because of God’s amazing grace.
Because on Calvary’s mountain, He took my place.
And someday, some glorious morning,
I shall see Him face to face
All because of God’s amazing grace!”
We see an example of God’s grace in our text.
In II Samuel 24, David decided to take a census. Joab tried to warn him that he shouldn’t do it but David insisted. After the census was taken, David’s conscience began to bother him and he confessed his sin to the Lord.
Gad came to David and asked, “Will you choose three years of famine throughout your land, three months of fleeing from your enemies, or three days of severe plague throughout your land? Think this over and decide what answer I should give the Lord who sent me.”
Hearing this, David responded, “I’m in a desperate situation!…But let us fall into the hands of the Lord, for his mercy is great. Do not let me fall into human hands.”
Think about what David said…. “Let me fall into the hands of the Lord because His mercy is great… but don’t let me fall into the hands of man.”
David is saying, “I will take my chances with God.” David knows that man is not known for grace but God is so, David says “let me fall into the hands of the Lord.”
Picture that with me…. in your mind, picture the hands of God…. David says, “let me fall into the hands of God…”
God’s hands are loving, caring… comforting…
Today, it does not matter what’s in your past… God loves you. God forgives you. God encourages you to fall into His hands.
