Are you enjoying the Christian life? I mean, are you happy that you are a Christian and are you telling others about your relationship with Jesus? If not, we should be.
In John 10:10, Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.” Jesus wants us to enjoy the Christian life. He says, “I am come that they might have life and have it abundantly.”
So, what does the abundant life mean? Some would say it means emotional expression in worship and in our daily living. I’ve known lots of people who constantly say, “Praise the Lord!” There is absolutely nothing wrong with that but, the “abundant life” isn’t limited to “Praise the Lord!”
Living the abundant life means enjoying our faith. It means being filled with the joy of the spirit. It means sharing our faith with others. It means enjoying studying the Bible and helping others.
On the contrast, Jesus said, “The thief comes to kill and destroy.” The “thief” Jesus was talking about was Satan. Jesus wants to give us abundant life but Satan wants to kill us. Let that sink in…. Satan wants to kill us.
Satan wants to give us addicted to drugs or alcohol. Satan wants us to think everyone has an affair. Satan wants us to cut corners in business and cheat someone. Satan wants us to gossip about others.
Today, Jesus wants to give us life.. Satan wants to make us think he’s giving us life but instead, he’s trying to kill us. Today, join me and let’s enjoy the abundant life that only Jesus can give.
