John 3:16

Probably one of the best-known verses in the Bible is John 3:16. The verse reads, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him would not perish but would have everlasting life.” That verse speaks of God’s love for us and how we can have our sins forgiven.
Let’s look at the verse and, let’s insert our name in the verse.
“For God so loved (Gregg Potts), that He gave His only begotten Son, that if (Gregg Potts) believes in Him, (Gregg Potts) would not perish but (Gregg Potts) would have everlasting life.”
That’s a beautiful verse isn’t it? It reminds us of how much God loves us. God loved us so much, that He sent His Son to die for us. Let that sink in…. Jesus Christ came to die for you and me. If we were the only people on earth, Jesus would have died for our sins.
Jesus loves us. Now, question for you; have you asked Jesus Christ into your heart to be saved? You might say, “What does that mean?”
The Bible says that all of us have sinned (Rom. 3:23). And, because of our sin, we are separated from God. The Bible also says, “the wages of sin is death” (Rom. 6;23). So, because of our sin, we are separated from God. In order to eliminate that separation that man has with God, man has tried to do good things. Man has built altars. Man has given money to great causes. But none of that works. Man is still separated from God.
So, how can man be right with God? The Bible says the only way is for man to ask Jesus Christ to come into man’s heart and forgive Him of his sins. John 3:16 reminds us that Jesus came to this earth to die for our sins. Jesus loves us and will forgive us if we ask Him.
Someone may be reading this who is not a Christian. You may be thinking, “There is no way Jesus could save me. I’ve messed up too bad.”
No you haven’t. It does not matter what you have done, Jesus will save you if you repent of your sin and ask Him to come into your heart.
Someone might say, “it can’t be that simple.” It is. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that WHOEVER believes in Him would not perish but would have everlasting life.” “Whoever” means anyone and that includes you.
Today, Jesus is standing at the door of your heart wanting to come in. Why don’t you let Him today and experience His love.
