People Will Let Us Down But Jesus Doesn’t

On Sunday, Jesus made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
On Monday, He cleansed the temple.
On Tuesday, He cursed the fig tree.
On Wednesday, He was asked a trick question by a lawyer who was a Pharisee.
Obviously, the events listed above are not the only things that happened on those days of Holy Week. I just selected these events to teach on.
On Thursday of Holy week, Jesus ate the Passover meal with His disciples and then, gave them what we know as the Lord’s Supper. Then, Jesus went into the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. After praying, Jesus would be betrayed by Judas into the hands of the Roman soldiers.
Think about that…. Judas was one of the twelve. Jesus was close to Judas yet Judas betrayed Him. Have you ever been let down by a friend? Very likely you have or, maybe even a family member. It stings.
Well Jesus experienced this as well. Jesus is the only person who will never let us down.
There is an old hymn that goes;
“What a friend we have in Jesus;
All our sins and griefs to bear.
What a privilege to carry;
Everything to God in prayer.”
