Why Work Ethic Is So Important

“The only place success comes before work, is in the dictionary.”
That quote speaks to the importance of work. Simply put, if you want to be successful, there is no short-cut; you become successful by working hard.
Proverbs 12:24 says, “Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave.”
Most people who are successful have a strong work ethic. They have worked hard to get where they are. I have noticed something that I call the “2nd generation” syndrome. I have known some people who were successful. They worked hard, invested their money wisely and became successful. Then, they hand their business off to their kids. But the kids don’t have the work ethic their parents had and the business struggles and may even go under.
A successful businessman told me cone that his kids were spoiled. Then he said, “They don’t remember years ago when we were eating beans instead of steak.”
His kids had known nothing but success. They didn’t appreciate what it had taken their Dad to build the business.
Today, if you want to be successful… there isn’t but one way… work hard. Study hard. Learn more. Go the extra mile.
As Proverbs 12:24 says, “Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave.” I don’t know about you, but I would rather be a leader.
