What Kind Of Fruit Are We Producing?

Let’s imagine you have blueberry trees. The weather has been warm and you decide to check your trees. You go out to check your blueberry trees… and you find strawberries. But you don’t have strawberries… you have blueberries.
Of course, I’m being silly, but you get the idea. A tree is not going to produce fruit that is different from the type tree it is. Blueberry trees will not produce strawberries and vice versa.
Jesus said, ““A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. A tree is identified by its fruit. Figs are never gathered from thornbushes, and grapes are not picked from bramble bushes. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart” (Luke 6:43-45).
Notice that Jesus says, “.. a good tree can’t produce bad fruit and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit.” We will produce fruit that is like us. Everything flows out of our hearts.
So what kind of fruit are you producing? Is it good fruit or bad fruit? As we examine our lives, do we worship? Do we give? Do we serve? What about our character? Are we honest? Reliable?
If we are living for the Lord, our lives should be marked by good fruit.
