“Does Anyone Give A …..?”

“Who gives a …….?”
Or, “does anyone give a …..?”
Have you ever said that or have you heard someone say that? Very possibly you have. Many of us have.
We say that because at times, it can feel like not one single person cares. That is very real at times.
You may feel like the Psalmist who said, “Look to the right and see; for there is no one who regards me; no man cares for my soul” (Psalms 142:4).
But, I can assure you that God cares. In Matthew 10:30-31, Jesus said, “And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”
Ok, think about that… “..the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” I don’t know what the population of the world is, but there are lots of people who live on planet earth yet, the Bible says, our heavenly Father knows how many hairs, we each have on our heads. Now, someone is saying, “Well, for me it wouldn’t be too hard of a job to count my hairs!
I hear you! But, obviously, that’s not the point. The point is that God cares enough that he knows how many strings of hair we have. It’s a reminder that God loves us.
This Sunday morning, maybe you are hurting. Maybe you are discouraged or depressed. Maybe this week, your spouse told you they didn’t love you and they want a divorce. Maybe a girlfriend or boyfriend broke up with you. Maybe you lost your job. Maybe you feel like a friend stabbed you in the back. Maybe someone said something that was cruel. As I said earlier, this world can be a cold place. But in this cold world, be assured that God cares.
Now, Christians…. God may want to use you to be the arms of God reaching out to someone who is hurting. God may want you to give someone some money for food or gas. God may want you to sit down and listen to someone. God may want you to care.
James Taylor has a song that goes;
“When your down and troubled,
And you need a helping hand.
And nothing, nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there.
To brighten up even your darkest night.
You just call out my name,
And you know where ever I am ,
I’ll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall,
Hey now, all you got to do is call.
And I’ll be there, Yes I will,
You’ve got a friend.”
I PROMISE you, almighty God loves us and is available 24/7/365. We have a friend in Jesus.
