What Will The Divine Scales Reveal About Our Lives?

If you watch my video’s or read my blog with any regularity, you know that I believe strongly in grace. But, the Bible also speaks of judgement.
In Daniel 5, King Belshazzar is having a feast. All of a sudden a man’s hand appears and the hand is writing on the wall. The Bible says the king became afraid and cried out for someone to interpret the writing on the wall. So, Daniel was brought in.
As Daniel interpreted the writing, it was “MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.” “MENE” meant that God had numbered the days of Belshazzar’s kingdom; “TEKEL” means you have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.
Focus on the last word… “TEKEL”… you have been weighed on the scales and found wanting. That verse speaks of judgment. Everyone of us will face judgment. Will our lives be weighed on God’s scales and found wanting as Belshazzar’s was?
How can we live in a manner not to be found wanting when judgment day comes? We need to worship. We need to give. We need to serve. We need to be kind to one another. But the most important thing is, we need to make sure of our salvation.
As we step on the divine scales today, what is revealed? We need to live in a manner that the scales will reveal someone who has lived for Christ and hears the words, “well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
