Don’t Be Too Quick Too Judge

In my opinion, judging others is one of the most frequently committed sins of Christians. I have even observed that, for some reason, when a person tries to have a closer walk with the Lord, they have a tendency to become more judgmental. It’s as if they think that’s what Jesus would want. But they are totally off. Jesus wants us to be filled with humility.
In Titus 3:2, Paul tells Titus to tell those in his flock that they “…must not slander anyone and must avoid quarreling. Instead, they should be gentle and show true humility to everyone.” Then, Paul adds, “Once we too were foolish and disobedient. Think about that. Paul is saying we don’t need to judge others because we were once just like them. He adds, “Our lives were full of evil and envy and we hated each other…”
“But.. when God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us…” (v.4) Paul is saying that we need to be careful about judging others because we were in the same position before Jesus saved us.
Today, don’t be so quick to judge. When you judge someone, you are actually filled with pride. We all have enough issues of our own that we don’t need to judge others.
