God May Have A Job For Us That Requires Us To Get Out Of Our Comfort Zone

We all want to be comfortable.      Whenever we make purchases, we base our decisions on comfort. We dont normally buy things that will make us uncomfortable. We attend church somewhere that we are comfortable. We want our job to be comfortable. We want our kids to be comfortable at school.
So, if we arent comfortable, we normally want out. But, that’s not always God’s plan.
In Timothy 2:3, Paul tells Timothy “endure suffering along with me…” It seems that maybe Timothy was going through some tough stuff and maybe wanted to leave. But instead of Paul giving Timothy his blessing to leave, Paul says “endure suffering with me…”
ENDURE suffering? Let’s be honest, WHO wants to ENDURE suffering. “Not I, said the little bear.”
But, there are times when God has a purpose for us that involves suffering or at least, it requires us to get out of our comfort zone.
I don’t know what you are going through or what kind of decisions you are facing but maybe you don’t want to do something because it’s going to require you to get out of your comfort zone. If it does, God will be with you. God will give you strength.
Several years ago Holli was considering leaving Paulding County High School to go to a school closer to where we lived. She decided to stay at PC although it was a longer drive. I asked her she made that decision? She said even though the other school was closer, she didnt think it was time for her to leave. She chose the less comfortable of the two choices.
God may want you to do the thing that’s less comfortable. And if he does, he will be with you.
