Good deeds are done everyday. Some of them make the news or, at least someone knows about them. But there are lots of good deeds that are done that go unnoticed. And, many people who do these good deeds prefer they remain that way.
In I Timothy 5:25, Paul said, “In the same way, the good deeds of some people are obvious. And the good deeds done in secret will someday come to light.”
Let’s think about some good deeds. My mother-in-law, Emma Zell Knighton, loves flowers. Every month she decorates the tables for the fellowship meal at Centreville Baptist. A good deed that can go unnoticed.
My Mom, Myrna Potts, played the piano at my home church for years. A good deed that can go unnoticed
Scott Templeton makes the coffee and turns AC or heat on at FBC Emerson most Sunday’s. A good deed that can go unnoticed
Years ago, John Norton, a man in Brookhaven, MS, went to a Nursing home & picked up 2 men & brought them to church. A good deed that can go unnoticed.
Last week, Holli & I attended Venue Church in Chattanooga. We were greeted by their hospitality team led by Regina Lane Dean. A small deed that can go unnoticed.
Thank you, Lord for all the big & small deeds done in the kingdom of God.
