Handling Our Thoughts

Do you struggle with your thought life? I can answer for you; yes you do. We all do.
Maybe it’s negative thoughts that fill your mind. Or, maybe it’s hateful thoughts or sexual thoughts. Or, perhaps other type of thoughts.
In II Corinthians 10:5, the apostle Paul said, “We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ…”
Notice Paul said, “…taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.” Paul is saying we can’t stop the thoughts from popping up in our minds but, we can take them captive.
When a bad thought pops up in your mind, right then, stop and ask the Lord to help you. Take it captive and replace it with a thought in obedience to Christ.
Chuck Swindoll once said, “Our mind is like a hotel lobby; we can’t control who comes through the lobby but we don’t have to give them a room.
Today, don’t give a room to bad thoughts, take them captive to the obedience of Christ.
