God Provides For Our NEEDS

Ok… a little transparency this morning..
I’m in car sales now and we are paid commission. I’ve been in car sales three months now. There have been times when I’ve gotten close to the end of the week without a sale. That means, less money if you don’t make a sale. There have been several times when I got nervous… but looking back, thank the Lord, I always made a sale, at times, at the eleventh hour.
Yesterday, I went to work needing a sale. As I started the day, I admit, I was nervous… would I get a sale that day? God reminded me of times in the past when He has provided and that gave me some peace. However, I was still nervous. I thought about Abraham being called to offer Isaac. God led him to Mt. Moriah to sacrifice his son. Abraham laid Isaac on the altar. He took out his knife and was about to kill his son when, at the last minute, God intervened and showed Abraham a ram caught in the thicket. So, Abraham named that place, “Jehovah Jireh” which means, “God will provide.”
Yesterday, I thought about that story and I thought, “Lord, could you show me the ram a little earlier?” 🙂 In the book of Nehemiah, Ezra is leading the people to back and remember how God had blessed them. Ezra said, “For forty years you sustained them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell!” (Ezra 9:21).
I love that verse! “… their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell.”
Maybe you are going through a tough time financially. God reminds us that He took care of the Israelites and He will take care of us. That doesn’t mean a new car or a new suit of clothes or a vacation. You may have to do without some things. But God promises to provide for our needs.
