When We Can’t Pray – The Spirit Prays For Us

We believe in the power of prayer. We believe that our Heavenly Father listens to us and helps us. We believe Jeremiah 33:3 which says, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and mighty things…”
But, there are times when life knocks us to our knees and we have a difficult time praying. We try to form words, but we cant. We are hurting so bad, we are so disappointed that we do not have the strength to pray. We may ramble and try but we feel like our prayers aren’t getting past the ceiling.
When we are going through a divorce, we want to pray but can’t. When a child goes astray, we want to pray but can’t. When we go through bankruptcy, we want to pray but can’t.
Thankfully, when we are in those positions, the Holy Soirit prays for is. Paul wrote, “In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words…” ( Romans 8:26).
‭ What a wonderful promise! When we can’t pray, the Spirit intercedes for us. Today, maybe you can’t pray. The Spirit will intercede for you. The Spirit will lift you up when you are down. Thank the Lord for the comfort of the Holy Spirit!
