We Are Made Right Before God Through Believing In God

How is man made right with God? Is it through offering sacrifices to God? Is it through doing enough good things? How are we made right before God? To answer that, let’s go back to the beginning of time.
Abraham was the first patriarch. God called him to follow Him and God would build the nation of Israel on Abraham. The Bible says of Abraham, “Abraham believed God and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith” (Gen. 15:6).
So, was Abraham counted righteous because of his sacrifices? No.. It was because of his faith. That is still how man is made righteous before God. You can’t work your way into heaven.
The apostle Paul said, “It is by grace we are saved by faith, not as a result of works, lest any man should boast” (Eph. 2:8-10).
We are saved by grace… not because of something we have done. But lots of people think it is due to works that we are saved. Listen, you can’t be a good enough person to be counted righteous because of your faith. We are all flawed. We are all sinners.
Years ago, the prophet Isaiah said this about our works, “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rag..” (Isaiah 64:6).
While it’s important for us to serve our fellow man, doing that does not get us to heaven. It’s also important for us to give. But doing that doesn’t get us to heaven. The only thing necessary for us to go to heaven, is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him into our hearts to save us rom our sins. That’s it. Nothing else. Once you do that, you will WANT to serve others. It’s not because you have to but because you want to.
Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. Will you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ today?
