God’s Promises Are Pure

Have you ever had someone make a promise but not keep it? Maybe you have had a parent “promise” to do something that they didn’t do. Maybe a friend moved away but “promised” to stay in touch but, they didn’t do it. When someone makes a promise but doesn’t, it can really dishearten us.
The Bible tells us, that God is not like that… our loving heavenly Father keeps His promises. Psalms says. “The Lord’s promises are pure; like silver refined in a furnace.”
What are some promises God gives us?
First, God promises to provide for us. Philippians 4:19 says, “My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory.”
God promises to comfort us. Psalms 23 says, “The Lord is my shepherd… He leads me beside the still waters.”
He promises to forgive us, if we ask. I John 1:9 says, “If you confess your sin, Jesus is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins…”
He promises to guide us. Jesus said, “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13).
And the list could go on. We can trust God’s promises. God may not give us the nicest car or truck. God may not put us in the nicest house. But. God provides.
We can rest in the promises of God.
