“Train Up A Child In The Way That They Should Go”

“Train up a child in the way that he should go. Even when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). That is one of Holli’s favorite verses. And to apply that verse in her life, for twenty-nine years she has tried to set a Christ-like example to our kids.
Holli Alice Potts, is a strong Christian. She loves the Lord and tries her best to live for Christ. She is one of the best people I know. She seldom, and I mean seldom, complains.
In almost thirty-five years of marriage, Holli has lived in several different houses. She has taught in nine different schools and lived in several different areas and towns. She has handled the challenges of being the Pastor’s wife well. She has understood, when we didn’t have the money to do things. In eery church, even if she was tired, she has come to many prayer meeting services because she “wanted to be with you (me)”. She didn’t say much but she was there. Lending her support. If a meeting was held that could be contentious, she wanted to come to “protect her husband.”
Holli Alice, I love you. You are a wonderful Mom.
But the greatest example of how effective Holli has been as a Mother is that, on most Sunday mornings, Will and Robert attend North Metro Church and Robert and Lauren are involved in a small group at North Metro, Sarah attends West Cobb. Our children, THANK THE LORD, are in church. Their Mom has “raised them up in the way that they should go…”
Love you Holli Alice!
