The Struggle Of Our Thought Life

Do you struggle in your thought life? Are you constantly battling negative thoughts or maybe even mean thoughts? Do you, at times, think something that is just wrong and it bothers you that you even had the thought?
I understand. My thought life is an absolute battle. I think it is for lots of people.
In Psalm 104:34, the Psalmist says, “May all my thoughts be pleasing to him.” But all our thoughts are not pleasing to the Lord, are they? Mine definitely aren’t.
The apostle Paul said regarding our thoughts, “..taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.” (II Cor. 10:5). So, when we have bad thoughts, we should pray and ask forgiveness for the thought and set it aside.
Chuck Swindoll has a neat quote on thoughts. He says, “Our minds are like a hotel lobby; lots of people pass through but we don’t have to give them all a room.”
Today, may we, like the Psalmist pray, “May all my thoughts be pleasing to him…”
