Choose Life!

Life or death, which will it be?
If you were to tell a person they have a choice between life and death and they must choose, most, if not all, are going to choose life. The Lord gave the people of Israel that choice.
In Deuteronomy 29:19-20, Moses is preparing Israel to enter the promised land. As he does, he reminds them of what God has done for them in the past. Then, the Lord says to Israel, “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!”
God challenges Israel to choose life! But what’s involved in choosing life? Choosing life meant obeying God and following His commands. The same is true today.
Jesus said, “I have come that they might have LIFE… and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). Jesus wants us to experience life. How do we experience it? It begins by trust Christ as Savior then, living for the Lord on a daily basis.
Choosing life means living your life by the principles of God’s word. Choosing death means doing things your way.
Choosing life means staying away from drugs. Choosing death is staying away from drugs and the harm they can do to our bodies.
Choosing life means having friends who love Christ and help us in our daily lives. Choosing death means having friends who bring us down as opposed to building us up.
Choosing life means being good stewards of God’s money. Choosing death means being foolish with God’s money.
Choosing life means following the principles of God’s word in regards to sex. Choosing death means ignoring them.
I could go on but you get the idea.
God challenged Israel to choose life. We can all choose life today and choose to live for the Lord.
