“But then”

Everyone goes through adversity. It’s part of life. When we face adversity, Christians turn to our Lord and He helps us. But, there are times when the Lord doesn’t respond immediately. What then?
That’s what the Psalmist faced in Psalm 77. He was hurting. He was going through a tough time. At one point, the Psalmist was so low that he said, “This is my fate; the Most High has turned his hand against me.”
The Psalmist was low… very low.
I love the first two words of verse 11, “BUT THEN..”, things turn. In verses 11 and 22 the Psalmist says, “BUT THEN I recall all you have done, O Lord… I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works”
The Psalmist was really struggling, he was really low… BUT THEN,” he said, “I recalled all you have done, O Lord… I remember your deeds…”
You may be low this morning. Maybe you have prayed and prayed and it seems nothing has happened. You may even be wondering if there is unconfessed sin in your life that’s keeping your prayers from being answered.
You question if God loves you… if God hears you… BUT THEN.. you remember all the good things God has done.
Today, if you are down, remember what God has done for you in the past.. and know that God loves you.
