“Thou Art The Christ, Son Of The Living God”

I love good quotes and I post many of them on Facebook.  Quotes are great statements made by people across the course of history.  One of the greatest statements ever made was made by Peter in the Bible.

Jesus  and His disciples were in the region of Caesarea Phillipi.  Jesus asked the disciples, “Who do men say that I am?”

Simon Peter responded, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus said, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, for flesh and blood didn’t reveal this to you but my Father who is in Heaven.”  Then Jesus said, “Upon this rock I will build my church.”

Peter’s statement, is the statement that  started the church.  Peter was recognizing Jesus as the Messiah.  Today,   when someone joins a church, they say the same thing Peter said 2,000 years ago; Jesus is the Messiah. Oh, they probably don’t say those very words but, whatever they say is a variation of those words.

When a person accepts Christ as Savior, they are saying that they believe Jesus in the messiah and they believe He can save them.  They are essentially saying the same thing Peter said.

What about you?  Who is Jesus to you?  If you believe Jesus is the Messiah and you have invited into your heart to save you, then you believe Jesus is the Messiah.  If you don’t believe that, then you are not a Christian.  I encourage you, if you don’t believe that, to give your life to Christ.  Jesus is the Messiah and Savior of the world!
