Have you ever heard someone say, “I’m feeling the love?”
Sometimes when they say that they are being sarcastic, as if to say… “I’m REALLY feeling the love” meaning they aren’t feeling it. Or, someone may say of another person… “show him or her some love” meaning, give them some applause.
In Deuteronomy 11:22, the Bible says, “Be careful to obey all these commands I am giving you. SHOW LOVE TO THE LORD your God by walking in His ways and holding tightly to them.” Notice the text says … “Show love to the Lord…” We demonstrate that we love the Lord by obeying His commands. Yesterday, I thought about how many people went to church on Easter Sunday. They demonstrated their BELIEF that Jesus lives. But what happens on Monday after Easter or Tuesday or Wednesday? In short, our BELIEF in Jesus should affect our BEHAVIOR for Christ. We are to obey the Lord.
There’s an old hymn that goes;
“Trust and obey, For there’s no other way,
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.”
Today, show your love to the Lord by being obedient to Him.
