Be Still And Wait On The Lord

Be still.

That’s what I sense God saying to me during this time of transition.  But, being still is tough for me.  I am wired to do something.  Don’t just sit around… make some calls… go see some people… email some resume’s.  That’s how I’m wired but, I’ve sensed God saying, “Be still and know that I am God.”

Do you have a hard time being still?  Someone reading this post has just nodded their head or, they have said, “Do I have a hard time being still? That’s funny… YES, I have a hard time being still.”

But that’s what I sense God has told me to do.  God may be telling you the same.  Just be still.  Don’t do anything… just be still and know that I am God.

Jesus took Peter, James and John with Him when up on the Mountain of Transfiguration.  While they were there, Moses and Elijah appeared.  The disciples  thought they need to build something to commemorate that moment.  Instead, God spoke and said, “This is my beloved Son!  Listen to Him” (Matt. 17:5).  In other words, “Be quiet, guys!”

Today, you may be wanting to make a call… to go see someone… to do something! But God says, “Be still… and know that I am God.”  Join with me and let’s try to be still before God.
