Every day we have decisions to make. Some maybe more important than others but still, we have to make decisions. As Christians, we want to follow the leadership of the Lord in making decisions. The last thing we want to do is make a decision that is outside of God’s will.
In the book of Exodus, after the incident with the Golden Calf, God was angry with Israel. God told Moses that he and the people should go ahead to Canaan and God would send an angel ahead of them. But, God said, “…for I will not go up in your midst..” (Exodus 33:3). When the people heard this, they mourned.
Then, Moses went back to God on behalf of Israel. He pleaded with God to go with Israel. Then, the Lord said, “My presence shall go with you..” Then, Moses replied, “If your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here.” (Exodus 33:15). Think about that verse. Moses is saying, “Lord, if you aren’t in it, we do not want to go.”
All of us should have those same feelings. As we make decisions, our prayer should be, “Lord, if you aren’t in it, we don’t want to go.” That prayer would save us from some foolish decisions.
Today, like Moses, let your attitude be, “Lord, if you don’t go with with us… we aren’t going either.”
