You are a believer. You believe in God. Yet, some things have happened and… you do not understand. You are questioning…
Maybe a very nice person had something bad happen to them.
Maybe someone has cancer.
Maybe someone has died in an automobile accident.
Maybe someone had a spouse cheat on them.
When these things happen, you try… you REALLY try to make sense of it all but you are struggling. You believe that God is up there… but you question some things that have happened.
Well, the prophet Habakkuk was in the same position. Years ago, he looked around and saw things happening that really bothered him. He prayed but didn’t get any response. Finally, Habakkuk said, “Though the fig tree should not blossom and there be no fruit on the vines; Though the yield of the olive should fail and the fields produce no food, Though the flock should cut off from the fold and there be no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will exult in Thee o God” (Hab. 3:17-18).
I LOVE those two verses. They tell us that even when things don’t look good, we should keep trusting in God. Today… if you are about to give up… you are running out of rope…. you just don’t understand…. trust the Lord.
