Two Questions... That Determine The Direction Of Our Lives.

Decisions
Our lives are filled with decisions.
When we graduate from high school we are confronted with the decision of "Where will I attend college" or "What craft will I learn?"
Once a craft or college is decided upon, we then face the question of what field of study to major in if we are going to college or, where we can learn a craft.
As we progress through life, we are confronted with more and decisions and questions.
This morning, as I was reading the twenty-second chapter of Acts, the apostle Paul asked the Lord two questions and those two questions pretty much resolved or determined the course of life.
Two questions... that's all.
What were they?
First, in verse eight, Paul asked "Who art thou, Lord?"
That was the first question and it is a question thousands of people are still asking... "Who is Jesus?"
For me and many, many other  people, Jesus is the Savior of the world and Lord of all creation.  Our lives are governed by what Jesus would want us to do.  But for many others, Jesus was a great teacher or a prophet but nothing else.  Who is Jesus to you?
The second question is in verse ten and it is "What shall I do Lord?"
When Paul asked that question, the Lord told him to "arise and go to Damascus."
Those two questions are essential to the direction of our lives...
"Who art thou, Lord?" and "What shall I do?"
Many who read this blog have already answered the question "Who art thou, Lord?" and you have asked Jesus into their hearts.  But many need still need to answer the question "What shall I do?"  That is a critical question of our day.
"What shall I do, Lord?"
Have you asked that question?  Have you genuinely, sincerely asked "What should I do?" or, do you get up every day, make your list for the day without giving much thought to what God would have you do?
Lots and lots and lots of people today will claim that Jesus is their personal Lord and Savior.  But, are we genuinely asking God for direction?  I think you know the answer... we aren't... If we were, churches would be filled on Sunday, we would have plenty of money to do what we need to do and every Christian would get along with other Christians.  So, no, we aren't following the Lord as we should... not nearly...
Who is Jesus to you?  Is He your Lord?
If Jesus is your Lord, then you should ask, we should ask, "What shall I do?"
Let me close by asking this question; "Can we trust Jesus?'  I think you know the answer to that is "yes, we can."  So, if we can trust Jesus then, we can also trust the direction Jesus takes our lives, correct?  The answer is "yes, we can."
So today, Jesus has the best plan for you.  Decide today to do what Jesus would want you to do.
Life can be complex but it can really be summed up in two questions;
"Who is Jesus and what does He want us to do?"
Jesus is Lord and He wants you to follow Him.  Do that, and you will find meaning and happiness.
