Decisions; "When You Come To A Fork In The Road - Take It"

Decisions.  Life is full of 'em.
But how do you make them?
Yogi Berra once said "When you come to a fork in the road; take it."  That's one way of making decisions.
In Acts 16  the apostle Paul tells us about another way.
Acts 16 says Paul and his companions were sailing throughout the region of Galatia and Phyrgia '...having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia" (Acts 16:6).
Then again, in verse 7, the Scripture says "When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would  not allow them."
In one verse we read "... kept by the Holy Spirit."
In another "...the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them..."
Personally, I have always wondered HOW the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them.
My guess is that Paul sensed in his spirit that he wasn't to enter Bithynia.  How did he sense?  Well, that one is difficult to explain.
Most of us have had times when we prayed and read the Bible and we just sensed in our spirit what we were to do.  We couldn't explain it... we just sensed in our spirit.  Someone may ask us why we are doing what we are doing or why we aren't going to do something and we respond with "I just have a peace about it" or.. "I don't have a peace about it."
Maybe you are seeking God's direction now about something.  You may even be asking for a "sign in the sky;" something to verify the direction you are going or something to show you the direction you are supposed to go.
Sometimes decisions are easy or maybe I should say... "easier..."  and at times they are difficult.
Perhaps you are searching right now... You are praying.. You are reading... You are talking to friends, advisors, etc... You wish you had a sign.. but it ain't happening..
Maybe your sign is simply the gentle nudging of the Holy Spirit of God.
Recently, I asked a friend how they made decisions.  This person responded, "Peace..."  They went on to say that when they made decisions.. there was a peace that they had done the right thing.
Do you have peace?  If not, you can have it.  Paul was prevented by the Spirit of God... I'm guessing he didn't have peace...God wants you to have peace and you can have it even if you don't have a sign... It's the gentle direction of the Spirit of Jesus.
