If it pleases God, it WILL happen.

Have you ever told someone "I want to know God's will?"
As Christians, on a daily basis we have to know God's will... our desire is to please God and to please God we have to know God's will... I came at this truth kind of in a backward way today. Psalms 135:6 says "Whatever the Lord pleases, He does."   That verse made an impression on me.
"Whatever the Lord pleases.... he does..."
That speaks of the power of God.  If God WANTS to do something, it happens.  Nothing will thwart or stop God.  It's a reminder of the power of the God that we serve.
But think about the verse from the end of the verse working back... if that makes sense.    "Whatever the Lord pleases... He does..."  So, if God wants something to happen, it happens...  If that is so, and it is... then the key is to make sure what we are doing is something God wants done.  Which brings me back to the very simple; "I want to know God's will."
If I know God's will... if I know that God is in something.. then regardless of the circumstances.. opposition... discouragement...obstacles... regardless of all that.. if God is in something, it WILL work.  On the other hand, if God isn't in it, it won't happen.
So the secret is to pray and know the will of God.  How do we do that?
Through Bible study.  God has revealed himself to us through His word.  We read God's word to know God's will.  If you want to know God's will, spend time in God's word.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct Thy paths."
Through prayer.  This goes without saying.. or it should.  We have to pray to know the will of the Father.
Ok, so, you may say "I am praying and I am reading my Bible... why is God not answering..."
Just a thought here... is there any unconfessed sin in your life that may be hindering you from knowing God's will?  Ask the Holy Spirit to scan the hard drive of our heart and confess whatever sin is revealed.
Through wise Christian counsel.  Before I go any farther here, I stress "wise" Christian counsel.  Throughout my ministry the Lord has always used the counsel of Godly Christian men and women to guide me and sometimes to help confirm decisions.  There is nothing wrong with seeking the counsel of a good Christian friend... just  make sure they have a good, strong walk with the Lord.
So, are you seeking God's will?  Are you pleading with God for an answer?  I take comfort in the fact that "
Whatever God pleases, He does..."  Now, I just have to know and we have to know what pleases God and God wants us to know that.  So, invest time in Bible study, prayer and wise counsel... and ask the Lord to show you what pleases Him.
I know this... If you are struggling with a decision... I do not believe God wants His children to be twisting in the wind... God wants us to know what He wants us to do.
