The Retreat At Dallas.. A Bunch of Imperfect People Trying To Love and Serve a Perfect Savior.

If you don't mind, take a quick check of your pulse.  Ok, do you have a pulse?  You do?  Ok, that's a good thing.  Now, let me tell you something about yourself... if you have a pulse, you have made a mistake.  That's because everyone makes them.
Yes, everyone. No one is perfect.
When we make mistakes we can really beat ourselves up.  I mean, we can tell ourselves that we are not  very smart.. we are the worse person ever... we are never going to  be anything.  You know what I mean.  And sometimes, others can make us feel this way.
Maybe your parents were tough on you.
      Maybe a spouse.
      Maybe a supervisor at work.
      Maybe a coach.
      Or a teacher.
And, if someone is really hard on you they can make you think you are worthless.  But the good news is that is NOT how Jesus sees you.
Ok, so you have some dirty linen in your life?  Who doesn't?
I repeat; WE HAVE ALL MADE MISTAKES.
You want some Bible examples of people who made mistakes?
         Rahab... she was a prostitute..
         David.. committed adultery
Samson... had a little problem with the ladies.
Matthew.. he was a crooked, dishonest tax collector.
         Peter... he denied the Lord.
Yet,. God used ALL of these  people.  All  of them and God will use You too.
Today, we studied our second core value at The Retreat... People Need A Second Chance.  Maybe you have made some mistakes and feel like you are too bad too worship... You are not.  Maybe you feel like God can't use you.  Wrong again.  God loves you just like you are.  God will forgive if you will ask for forgiveness.  And God wants to use you.
The Retreat at Dallas is a place of grace, love and acceptance.  As a Pastor, I do not care what's happened in your life.  I do not care  what mistakes you have made.  I'm not going to judge you.  I and we will accept you just like you are just like we think Jesus would do.
We believe people make mistakes and Jesus forgives.  So, come join us.. we are all sinners saved by  grace.  We are a bunch of imperfect  people trying to love and serve a perfect Savior.
