An Invitation To A Baby Shower
A couple of weeks ago I posted that we were having a baby. I am able to track the number of hits to my blog and that post set the record. But, we aren't having a baby as in crying, laughing.. giggling baby. No, Holli and I, along with others are having a baby church. We are planting a church. The name of the baby is The Retreat. The Retreat will be a non-traditional church. Wear what you want and come as you are and experience the love and grace of Christ.
Well, many times, when a couple has a baby, a baby shower is given. I want to invite you to a baby shower for The Retreat. Since I'm an LSU fan the colors for the babie's room will be Purple and Gold. JUST KIDDING!!! But., I'm not kidding about the invitation to the shower.
When a shower is given, people bring stuff for the baby. Well, there are two things we need for our baby... Prayer and Funds. So, let me explain how you can help with those.
First, pray that God will help us make a difference in the lives of un-believers. My prayer is that the Lord will use The Retreat to attract those with questions about Christianity. I pray we will reach some who are skeptical and the Lord will use our services to enable the skeptic and the seeker to know the love and grace of Jesus.
Second pray that God will help us make a difference in the lives of people who are hurting and have made mistakes in life. Everyone has made mistakes. But when we do, Satan can make us think we aren't worthy of God's love. Sometimes Christians can even be judgmental and that is sad. Pray that we will be able to meet people where they are... regardless of their past.. and love them and accept them.

Third, pray that God provides, in His time, the needs that we have. New church starts are very dependent on outside giving in the first couple of years. We need funds for start- up needs and we need individuals or groups that would give on a monthly basis. We've been in ministry for 29 years. As I thought back recently over the years of our ministry I realized that this is the greatest step of faith we have taken.
