Getting away from OUR Egypt

The nation of Egypt has dominated the news the past couple of days.  A revolt is taking place in which the people are demanding the President step down.  He has ruled Egypt for years.
Go back with me several thousand years.  The people of Israel had been slaves in Egypt.  God had sent Moses to lead them out.  Now, here's the deal.
They were slaves.. but, they had kind of gotten accustomed to Egypt.  Egypt is symbolic of sin in the life of the believer.  We can get accustomed to sin.
This is the interesting thing; sin hurts... it stings... it enslaves.  One thing you can bet on; sin NEVER helps us.  Now, Satan will make us THINK it helps.  We might even figure out ways to justify or rationalize our sin.  But the bottom line is the same; sin hurts.. it enslaves.
Israel was in Egypt but now they are being led out.  When God led them out of Egypt the scripture says "God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, even though it was near; for God said, "The people might change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt." (Exodus 13:17)
God didn't want Israel to be tempted to go back to Egypt so God was careful on how He led Israel out of Egypt.
All of us things in our life that represent "Egypt."  For each one of us, our Egypt is unique to us.  It's a habit or something that we struggle with. I was talking with an individual recently who struggles with lust.  For someone else it may be pride.  For someone else maybe its temper.  It's different for each one of us.
What is your Egypt?  at
Or, maybe you are  like me... you have "EgyptS".
All of us have things that represent Egypt.  Acknowledge that to God and ask God to help you with your Egypt or EgyptS.
