OMG... Enough Already! How phrases become a part of our society.

Every day billions and billions and billions and .. (well you get the picture) of words are spoken. Someone might say, "Yeah, and that's just from my teenager!"
Lots of words are spoken.
Some are carefully thought out and prepared.
Some are spontaneous.
Sometimes, something is said that makes its way into our culture and is repeated by others.
Recently I was watching "Anderson  Cooper 360."  As he made comments about some issue in the news he said "Enough already."
That phrase has been around for a while now.  But it led me to think about how phrases become so popular in our society.  Where do they begin
Another phrase is "Shut up!"  Now that one has been around several years.
Someone suggested maybe that one originated with a teenager mad at their parents!  lol
Another is "blowing my phone up."  That one is associated with someone frequently calling or texting someone... someone is "blowing a phone up."
Another is "viral."  That normally is associated with a video on youtube that has gotten lots of hits.  Someone will say "it's gone viral" meaning, "it's spread quickly."
Another is "Oh My God!" or, "OMG."  It normally comes from someone who is shocked or surprised.
Some of these may have originated in movies.  Who knows about the others?
But whomever spoke the words the first time, surely didn't have any idea how popular and widespread those phrases would be.  They were spoken and someone thought they were neat phrases an were repeated and repeated and repeated.
In fact, imagine with me that you are sitting at home and someone on television says "Enough already!"  You think, "hey, they got that from me.  I said that once when was I frustrated."  I know it's imaginary but, the person might think "If I knew they were going to repeat me I would have said it differently."
Now, all of us have periodically said things and we would to have the opportunity to "re-say" what we "said."  We don't have that opportunity so, we need to be careful what we say... You never when what you say will be repeated and repeated.
