When your backs to the wall & tears need to fall... come cryin to me.
A few months back I subscribed to satellite radio. When I subscribed I anticipated listening to Espn and college football and I have done some of that but, the majority of the time, the radio has been on "prime country." A few weeks back, I heard a song that connected. It's by Lonestar and entitled "Come cryin to me."
The chorus goes;
"When your back's to the wall and tears need to fall and ... come cryin to me.
You don't have to be strong you have to hold on... come cryin to me.
I'll leave the living room light burning all night..."
Think about the lyrics of the song..."When your backs to the wall and tears need to fall.."
That's exactly where lots of people are living.. their backs to the wall and tears need to fall.
Notice the next three words... "come cryin to me.."
In the song, a man is encouraging a lady to come crying to him.
Now, let's take the song to a spiritual level. I know it wasn't meant spiritually but, there is definite application. First, many people have their backs to the wall and tears need to fall. People are hurting. When someone is hurting, where do they go? Well, they should be able to find a shoulder to lean on in a good Christian friend or a church. But let's be honest; that isn't always the case.
It bothers me that as Christians we aren't always as loving... forgiving... caring...understanding as we should be. When someone is hurting... they may not need a sermon... they need a hug. They need a word of encouragement. I'm not sure where God is leading me next in ministry but I know this; I want to be a minister...a Christian... that is known for loving, forgiving, and understanding.
Recently I spoke with a person whom I've developed a relationship with in the past year or two. This individual made a mistake which led to a brief incarceration. When I saw this person, I asked how they were doing. We talked and laughed a little. I told them I wanted to go to lunch sometime. I want to do that because this individual has their back to the wall. I want to encourage them.
It has been said regarding friendship; when everyone else walks out a friend walks in.
During the Christmas season, Holli and I were eating in a restaurant and I asked the waitress if they would be open Christmas Day. She said "Oh yes. The bar will especially be busy."
I was surprised but, maybe I shouldn't have been. On a day when most people think of family, some didn't have family and went to a bar.
No doubt, for some, their back was against a wall and tears needed to fall.
There is someone in your world whose back is to the wall and has tears that need to fall.
Jesus would say "Come cryin to me." We should do the same.
First,
